From: Charlottesville, Virginia, US
Label: Metropolis Records

Bella Morte brings dark alternative rock with a gothic-metal twist, from the heart of Virginia. It isn't just for lovers anymore. As one of the underground's hardest working bands, Bella Morte have gained respect as one of the most powerful live acts going today. By combining electronics, graveyard ballads, emotive storytelling and heavy guitar riffs, they have developed a style that is uniquely their own. As they continue to tour and write new material, Bella Morte remain eternally thankful that they have been able to make a living doing what they love: singing songs about the dead and winning over the hearts of the living along the way.

Bella Morte recorded their most recent full length, "Bleed the Grey Sky Black", with producer John Morand at the legendary Sound of Music studio in Richmond , Virginia. The album was released on October 10, 2006 on Metropolis Records, and Bella Morte finished an enormously successful nationwide tour with Hanzel und Gretyl to support its release in late 2006. "Bleed…" is by far the best-selling album for Bella Morte to date, and there is already new material in the works for yet another release in early 2008.

Ask anyone that's been to a Bella Morte show and you'll hear the same thing; there isn't a band on the circuit that can compete with the energy Bella Morte dishes out on stage. And for all the jumping, head-banging and spinning around, their sound never suffers. The guys are tight, and they know how to entertain a crowd better than anyone in the business.

An integral element to the success of Bella Morte has been the bond between the band's members. "It's great to play with guys I'm so close with," said guitarist Tony Lechmanski. All five members of Bella Morte are accomplished musicians, and singer Andy Deane took opera lessons for over five years to polish his Vocal performance.

Early in their career, Bella Morte entered the Virginia Battle of the Bands, where their dark sound bested a host of rock bands for first place. The cash prize funded their first album, "Remains". After self-releasing their second release, "Where Shadows Lie", the band got a major boost when Cleopatra Records re-released it with a couple of bonus tracks including a cover of Berlin's "The Metro". After selling many thousands of copies of "Shadows", Bella Morte caught the attention of a larger label, Metropolis Records, who they would sign with in 2002. Metropolis has since released three full length CDs and one EP for Bella Morte to great success.

Since then the band has toured Europe, the UK, Canada and the US extensively to spread their infectious sound to eager ears. And they're just getting started…
